Every crypto payment has a moment where you have hit Send and are waiting for confirmation. Knowing how to verify the transaction status — and how to fix it if it stalls — is the most useful skill in everyday crypto checkout.

Block explorers

Bitcoin: mempool.space (best UX), blockstream.info, blockchain.com. Ethereum: etherscan.io. Monero: localmonero.co/blocks (limited info by design). USDT: chain-specific (Tronscan for TRC-20, Etherscan for ERC-20).

What "1/6 confirmations" means

After your transaction is included in a block, that is 1 confirmation. Each subsequent block on top adds another confirmation. Most merchants require 1-6 confirmations depending on the amount. 1 confirmation typically takes 10 minutes on Bitcoin; less on Ethereum and Monero.

Verifying with the recipient address

Paste the recipient address into the block explorer. Confirm your transaction is in the address's incoming transactions list. Confirm the amount and timestamp match what you sent. Done.

When a transaction stalls

On Bitcoin: usually a low-fee issue. Use Replace-By-Fee (RBF) if your wallet supports it. Otherwise wait 24-72 hours for natural mempool clearance. On Ethereum: speed up via wallet UI by re-sending with a higher gas fee. On USDT-TRC20: rare to stall.

Wrapping up

Confirmation verification becomes second nature after a few transactions. Most stalls resolve themselves; the few that need intervention are fixable from your wallet. Browse crypto-friendly software deals once you are comfortable with confirmation flow.
