Microsoft 365 Personal at $69.99/year is the entry tier for the full Office suite plus 1 TB of OneDrive and Copilot integration. After six months of daily use as my primary productivity stack, here is the honest breakdown.

What you get

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access, Publisher (Windows-only), 1 TB of OneDrive, Outlook Premium, Microsoft Editor, Family Safety, basic Copilot integration, and the Microsoft 365 mobile apps with all features unlocked.

Day-to-day use

Word and Excel still set the bar in 2026 β€” Google Docs catches up on collaboration, Numbers wins on aesthetics for casual use, but for serious documents and spreadsheets, this is the standard. Outlook is excellent for managing 200+ daily emails.

Copilot in 2026

Copilot in Word and Excel earned its keep within a month. Drafting first-pass documents, summarizing long threads, building Excel formulas from natural language β€” all genuinely useful. Not transformative, but a real productivity bump.

Cost and the discount route

Retail is $69.99/year. Discount marketplaces knock that to $30-50/year payable in crypto. For one user, buy Microsoft 365 Personal at the discount price is a no-brainer. For families, M365 Family at $99.99 split 6 ways is even better.

Wrapping up

M365 Personal earns the subscription premium for daily knowledge workers. Office 2021 still wins on lifetime cost if you only need static apps. Get either at 60-70% off via Microsoft 365 deals.
